  • Server logs and security data: IP address, device/browser information, pages accessed, time and date of access, referrer/URL, and similar diagnostic/security data.

D) Cookies, pixels, and similar technologies

We use cookies and similar technologies (including pixels/tags) for:

  • essential site functionality,
  • analytics,
  • advertising and remarketing,
  • embedded third-party content (e.g., radio players/streams and social platforms).

Details are in Section 5.

4) How we use your data

We use personal data to:

  • Provide the Service (operate the directory, display station pages, and enable listening via links/players where available).
  • Maintain and improve listings (for example, handling station submissions/corrections, fixing broken links, and improving categorisation).
  • Provide support (respond to enquiries and troubleshoot issues).
  • Keep the Service secure (detect abuse, prevent fraud, protect systems, maintain logs).
  • Measure and improve performance (analytics, error monitoring, aggregated reporting).
  • Advertising and monetisation (Google ads, Meta pixel, remarketing, affiliate tracking where applicable).
  • Send newsletters (including occasional promotional content if you have opted in).
  • Comply with legal obligations and enforce our terms.

5) Cookies, advertising, analytics, and embedded content

5.1 Cookie choices

We use a cookie banner and settings tool to let you:

  • accept or reject non-essential cookies,
  • choose categories (where available),
  • change your choices later at any time via Cookie Settings.

Non-essential cookies (including advertising and remarketing) should not be set unless you consent.

5.2 Categories we use

Strictly necessary cookies
Required for core site operation and security (e.g., load balancing, basic preferences, fraud prevention). These do not require consent.

Analytics cookies (Google Analytics)
Help us understand how visitors use the site (e.g., pages visited, approximate location, device type). We use this to improve performance and content.

Advertising and remarketing (Google / Meta)
These technologies may:

  • measure ad performance,
  • support personalised advertising (where enabled),
  • build remarketing audiences (show ads again to people who visited the site),
  • limit how often you see an ad.

Affiliate tracking (where used)
Affiliate partners may use tracking links or cookies to attribute referrals. These are treated as non-essential unless they are strictly necessary for a service you explicitly request.

Embedded content (radio players/streams, YouTube, TikTok, social platforms)
Embedded players, stream widgets, and social widgets may set cookies or collect data (including IP address and device identifiers). Where possible, we aim to load such embeds in a privacy-friendly way, and/or only after you consent to the relevant cookie category – depending on how the embed is implemented.

6) Legal bases for processing

Depending on the activity, we rely on one or more of the following legal bases:

  • Legitimate interests (to run, secure, and improve the Service, prevent abuse, and maintain business operations), balanced against your rights.
  • Consent (for non-essential cookies, personalised advertising/remarketing, and marketing emails/newsletters).
  • Legal obligation (where we must keep certain records or respond to lawful requests).

You can withdraw consent at any time (newsletter unsubscribe link, cookie settings).

7) Who we share data with

These providers process data under contractual terms and only as needed to provide their services.

Third parties (controllers) in advertising ecosystems

When advertising/remarketing is enabled by consent, Google and Meta may process certain data for their own purposes (as described in their policies). You can control these through our cookie settings and your ad-platform preferences.

Radio stations, stream hosts, and embedded providers

When you play a station via an embedded player or click through to a station/stream provider, those third parties may collect data under their own privacy policies (for example, IP address/device identifiers). We do not control their processing.

We may keep certain data longer if required to comply with the law or handle disputes.

10) Marketing emails (newsletter)
